We’ve been blessed with some lovely, hot, sunny days, hardly any rain, and some good winds for sailing on most days. What perfect summer weather! Our ship’s crew and our passengers are very happy indeed.
We’ve been tagged in some glorious photos recently, thanks to happy travellers @flyingsheila_travelling, @global_adventure__, and @et.and.me
How cool is that turtle photo!
Great coral footage taken this week
Crew member Fiona took some lovely underwater footage with the GoPro this week. Check out how good the coral looks!
New walking track at Langford Island
Thanks to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, we have a new short walking track on Langford Island. Perfect for those who would like to take in some spectacular island views over Black Island, Hayman Island and Langford Island itself. The stepped track is about 300m to the top, and requires a little bit of fitness, and proper walking shoes.
To see the full extent of the view, you’ll just have to come with us for a trip!
Our crew are now certified Eco Guides
Amy, Nygel, Fiona and Ana have now all qualified as Ecotourism Australia Eco Guides! Well done team, we’re very proud of your efforts.
We take Ecotourism seriously and love sharing our passion with our guests. This extra certification for our individual crew members is another feather in their caps.
“After graduating with a Marine and Freshwater Biology degree in Scotland my interest and passion for the marine environment around the world grew. By becoming an Eco Guide, I have increased my depth of knowledge of the area and of environmental practices. This knowledge and the skills I have learned have allowed me to educate passengers from around the globe during our trips, not only on the marine environment but also terrestrial environments and history in the area, which I love. In order to protect this stunning part of the world I believe incorporating environmental sustainability is incredibly important.”
