Stonehaven Anchorage in Whitsundays coral is healthy and growing

The Whitsundays recovering well after the cyclone

Derwent Hunter is on whale watch!

It’s official, the whales are here! There have been numerous sightings of whales over the weekend from various boat tour operators, so we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for our first sightings this week too! How exciting, we love whale season!

The Whitsundays is recovering well after Debbie

After our annual maintenance recently, it’s been great to be out and about exploring again to see how well the area is recovering 11 weeks after the cyclone.

We’re actually pretty impressed to see how resilient nature is. Thanks to lots of rain, the trees are growing back and thriving. In Stonehaven it looks as green as it always did, which is lovely.

The marine life continues to visit us as we sail around. This week we have seen snub fin dolphins, white bellied sea eagles, and a regular hawksbill turtle has been visiting the Derwent Hunter on anchor!

Snorkelling we are seeing lovely soft corals, an array of reef fish and who can forget our friendly turtles. The sailing has been exceptional with strong south easterly breezes filling our sails.

And most importantly, our customers have been very happy giving us some great reviews.

Naught a bad day out
Pi-rate it very highly.
